CALL FOR ENTRIES If I am the Earth Fine Art Interactive Artists of all ages and talent ranges are invited to enter up to three works which express their feelings about the earth. Accepted artists will be published in the online interactive exhibition. Winning entries will be featured in the upcoming book, If I am the Earth by Dorothy Fagan. Proceeds will go to The Williamsburg Land Conservancy. All artists will have access to materials for teachers and youth activities for inspiring creative writing, art and earth stewardship among people in their communities. Wokingham and District Arts Group 53rd Annual Summer Exhibition and Sale of paintings, ceramics, glass and jewellery from 26th July to 9th August. One of the West Country's biggest and most popular Art exhibitions, with over 400 pictures and sculptures on display, and for purchase. Also mounted pictures (folios) available to buy and take away.Last year nearly 2,000 visitors voted for the Viewer's Choice. At the Digby Hall, off Hound Street in Sherborne, next to the Library. Entrance is free, but there is a pay and display carpark. Open from 11am to 5pm every day until Sunday 3 August when the exhbition closes at 3pm. Definitely worth a visit for the standard of work entered and presentation of exhibits is exceptional.

Established in 1997, Viridian Gallery displays highly individual work of professional quality, reflecting the rich variety of styles to be found in the region. Owned and run by Diane Gainey, a watercolour artist, the gallery aims to work closely with its exhibiting artists; some who have established reputations, and others who's work the gallery has helped to promote. There are permanent displays of Diane's most recent, atmospheric original watercolours, as well as the full range of her limited edition prints and greetings cards.

NATIONAL ART COMPETITION CALLS FOR ENTRIES FROM ALL AMATEUR ARTISTS OVER 60 With prizes worth £3,000 and the chance of exhibiting in a prestigious central London gallery this autumn, the EAC Over 60s Art Awards competition is now open.

6 July 2008 to 10 January 2010 - HoldaHand

Calling all artist and group leaders/ Classes/ Art Clubs. The HoldaHand project is a national arts project in which 64,000 people are invited to participate. 64,000 small white sculptures of a hand will be distributed in a number of ways to groups and individuals. Handholders will hold the hand for a year and be creative with it, they will then bring it back to a massive exhibition.

By popular request Mary Beaney, well-known and professional local artist will be tutoring her workshops in Pevensey Village - close to Pevensey Castlewhich inspires Mary in many of her paintings. Mary invites you to have fun whilst creating a 'masterpiece' in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and sets up at least 4 'still life' to paint from - no copying from photos -. The aim of the workshops is to get people to overcome their inhibitions - "but I haven't painted since leaving school" - "I can't paint" - "I don't know how to paint" is always the lament. To paint - BIG - BOLD - BEAUTIFUL. Mary welcomes all abilities and wants the joyful thrill of the making of art accessible to all in the community. Are you inspired by the woods of the Chilterns? If so, why not enter this free competition? After the succes of last year's event, which attracted 15000 visitors, the Special Trees and Woods Project, in partnership with the Chilterns Conservation Board, is hosting an art competition open to all those that are inspired by the woods of the Chilterns. Two awards, The Judges’ Award and The People’s Award, will be presented and selected artwork will be exhibited in two venues. Special Trees and Woods Project volunteer Joan Skelton Smith is curating the exhibitions. She said “The Chilterns landscape has proved inspirational to many artists over the years including Eric Gill, John Piper and Paul Nash. We know that the woods continue to inspire and I am really looking forward to seeing what entries we receive. I know that we will get artwork of every different medium and size, which will create a really exciting exhibition.”

The aim of the workshops is to get people to overcome their inhibitions - "but I haven't painted since leaving school" - "I can't paint" - "I don't know how to paint" is always the lament. To paint - BIG - BOLD - BEAUTIFUL. Mary welcomes all abilities and wants the joyful thrill of the making of art accessible to all in the community. Are you inspired by the woods of the Chilterns? If so, why not enter this free competition? After the succes of last year's event, which attracted 15000 visitors, the Special Trees and Woods Project, in partnership with the Chilterns Conservation Board, is hosting an art competition open to all those that are inspired by the woods of the Chilterns. Two awards, The Judges’ Award and The People’s Award, will be presented and selected artwork will be exhibited in two venues. Special Trees and Woods Project volunteer Joan Skelton Smith is curating the exhibitions. She said “The Chilterns landscape has proved inspirational to many artists over the years including Eric Gill, John Piper and Paul Nash. We know that the woods continue to inspire and I am really looking forward to seeing what entries we receive. I know that we will get artwork of every different medium and size, which will create a really exciting exhibition.”

CALL FOR ENTRIES If I am the Earth Fine Art Interactive Artists of all ages and talent ranges are invited to enter up to three works which express their feelings about the earth. Established in 1997, Viridian Gallery displays highly individual work of professional quality, reflecting the rich variety of styles to be found in the region. Owned and run by Diane Gainey, a watercolour artist, the gallery aims to work closely with its exhibiting artists; some who have established reputations, and others who's work the gallery has helped to promote. There are permanent displays of Diane's most recent, atmospheric original watercolours, as well as the full range of her limited edition prints and greetings cards.

The HoldaHand project is a national arts project in which 64,000 people are invited to participate. 64,000 small white sculptures of a hand will be distributed in a number of ways to groups and individuals. Handholders will hold the hand for a year and be creative with it, they will then bring it back to a massive exhibition.

After the succes of last year's event, which attracted 15000 visitors, the Special Trees and Woods Project, in partnership with the Chilterns Conservation Board, is hosting an art competition open to all those that are inspired by the woods of the Chilterns. Two awards, The Judges’ Award and The People’s Award, will be presented and selected artwork will be exhibited in two venues. Special Trees and Woods Project volunteer Joan Skelton Smith is curating the exhibitions. She said “The Chilterns landscape has proved inspirational to many artists over the years including Eric Gill, John Piper and Paul Nash. We know that the woods continue to inspire and I am really looking forward to seeing what entries we receive. I know that we will get artwork of every different medium and size, which will create a really exciting exhibition.”

Established in 1997, Viridian Gallery displays highly individual work of professional quality, reflecting the rich variety of styles to be found in the region. Owned and run by Diane Gainey, a watercolour artist, the gallery aims to work closely with its exhibiting artists; some who have established reputations, and others who's work the gallery has helped to promote. There are permanent displays of Diane's most recent, atmospheric original watercolours, as well as the full range of her limited edition prints and greetings cards.

Calling all artist and group leaders/ Classes/ Art Clubs. The HoldaHand project is a national arts project in which 64,000 people are invited to participate. 64,000 small white sculptures of a hand will be distributed in a number of ways to groups and individuals. Handholders will hold the hand for a year and be creative with it, they will then bring it back to a massive exhibition.

By popular request Mary Beaney, well-known and professional local artist will be tutoring her workshops in Pevensey Village - close to Pevensey Castlewhich inspires Mary in many of her paintings. Mary invites you to have fun whilst creating a 'masterpiece' in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and sets up at least 4 'still life' to paint from - no copying from photos -. The aim of the workshops is to get people to overcome their inhibitions - "but I haven't painted since leaving school" - "I can't paint" - "I don't know how to paint" is always the lament. To paint - BIG - BOLD - BEAUTIFUL. Mary welcomes all abilities and wants the joyful thrill of the making of art accessible to all in the community. 14 April to 17 October 2008 - Special Woods Art Competition

Are you inspired by the woods of the Chilterns? If so, why not enter this free competition? After the succes of last year's event, which attracted 15000 visitors, the Special Trees and Woods Project, in partnership with the Chilterns Conservation Board, is hosting an art competition open to all those that are inspired by the woods of the Chilterns. Two awards, The Judges’ Award and The People’s Award, will be presented and selected artwork will be exhibited in two venues. Special Trees and Woods Project volunteer Joan Skelton Smith is curating the exhibitions. She said “The Chilterns landscape has proved inspirational to many artists over the years including Eric Gill, John Piper and Paul Nash. We know that the woods continue to inspire and I am really looking forward to seeing what entries we receive. I know that we will get artwork of every different medium and size, which will create a really exciting exhibition.”

CALL FOR ENTRIES If I am the Earth Fine Art Interactive Artists of all ages and talent ranges are invited to enter up to three works which express their feelings about the earth. Accepted artists will be published in the online interactive exhibition. Winning entries will be featured in the upcoming book, If I am the Earth by Dorothy Fagan. Proceeds will go to The Williamsburg Land Conservancy.
